This paper explores the therapy and syndromes of fearing cold due to depression syndrome. It indicates that apart from the etiology and pathogenesis of exuberance yin with yang deficiency, accumulation and obstruction of yang-qi, cold accumulation with blood stagnation, disharmony between ying and wei, and qi and blood, heat invading inward and causing yang-qi to be stagnated, as well as depression syndrome can all lead to fearing cold. Fearing cold due to depression syndrome is induced by emotions, it has mental symptoms and colorful simultaneous phenomenon, the position and nature of partial symptoms are unclear, fearing cold itself is weird and inflated, treating from the aspect of depression syndrome is worked. All mentioned above prompts that fearing cold due to depression syndrome has similar characteristics as depression syndrome. Fearing cold due to depression syndrome is a kind of masked depression syndrome which concealed by the general cloak of fearing cold, and it is difficult to be diagnosed. Fearing cold due to depression syndrome can be found in many mental disorders, such as melancholia,anxiety, and somatoform disorders, the pathogenesis of it is related to autonomic dysfunction.
