This paper introduces Professor Liu Ping’s experience in treating primary biliary cirrhosis. Professor Liu advocates that the basic TCM pathogenesis of this disease is Qi and Yin deficiency and stasis and heat inside; as to the treatment, the principle therapy is tonifying Qi and nourishing Yin:pay attention to nourishing spleen in tonifying Qi, due consideration to liver and kidney in nourishing Yin. Considering the accompanied pathogenesis of stagnant heat, we can impose different way to treatment like heat-clearing, removing blood stasis and soft firm. A proven case was listed in this paper.
