Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of “Bushen Huatan Recipe” in treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)  Methods:62 subjects were randomized into treatment group (30 cases) and control group (32 cases). The control group was treated with Diane-35 orally while the treatment group was treated with “Bushen Huatan Recipe”. The courses of the two groups were 3 menstrual cycles. The clinical effects and adverse reaction were observed, the reproductive endocrinological indicators (T, FSH, LH, E,2, PRL, P) and the ovarian volume were compared before and after treatment  Results:① The overall effective rate was 96.7% in the treatment group and 75.00% in the control group,with a difference between the two groups (P,<,0.05).② Before and after the treatment in each group,there were significant difference in the levels of T (P,<,0.05); After the treatment in each group, there were significant difference in T level and the ovarian volume (P,<,0.05); After stop using medicines for 3 months, the levels of T and the volume of ovary in treatment group was better than that in control group(P,<,0.05). ③ After treatment,there were significant differences in LH levels in both groups (P,<,0.05) ; There was significant difference in LH level between the two groups. ④ There was significant difference in adverse reaction between the two groups(P,<,0.05)  Conclusion:“Bushen Huatan Recipe” can improve and stabilize clinical symptoms, regulate reproductive endocrine hormone level in PCOS with hyperandrogenism and make patients recover ovulation and promote menstrual bleeding. There was little adverse reaction in the treatment with “Bushen Huatan recipe”.
