Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of “Ningmitai Capsules” and antibiotics in the treatment of acute pyelonephritis of damp-heat pouring downward pattern  Methods:Ninety cases were randomized into treatment group (n=60) and control group (n=30). The control group was treated with antibiotics, and treatment group was treated with “Ningmitai Capsules” and antibiotics, with the course of 2 weeks. The clinical efficacy, symptoms score and urin  Results: were observed  Results:The total effective rate was 83.05% in the treatment group and 66.67% in the control group, with a difference between the two groups(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of the clinical symptoms were significantly decreased in both groups (P<0.001), but without difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The urine bacterial negative rate was significantly higher in treatment group than that in the control group (94.28% vs 80.00%, P<0.05); the urine RBC and WBC counts were reduced after treatment and two-week follow-up visit in both groups (P<0.001)  Conclusion:“Ningmitai Capsules” and antibiotics is quite effective for acute pyelonephritis of damp-heat pouring downward pattern.
