Current status in post⁃stroke rehabilitation research and research progress in post⁃stroke rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine
The current status in post-stroke rehabilitation research is expounded in terms of symptomatic rehabilitation, psychological rehabilitation and rehabilitation of complications, and the research progress in post-stroke rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is reviewed. It is thought that rehabilitation interventions should be provided as early as possible for stroke patients, and the focus of rehabilitation differs for patients with different symptoms. Individualized rehabilitation interventions should be developed and implemented to effectively improve physical mobility, speech impairment, swallowing dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction and post-stroke depression, and to prevent complications such as pulmonary infections and pressure sores.TCM rehabilitation treatment guided by the holistic concept and syndrome differentiation-based treatment can significantly promote the functional recovery in post-stroke patients, and improve their symptoms and quality of life in every way.
