Discussion on “the heart governing mental activities” and traditional Chinese medicine treatment of psychocardiological diseases
Psychocardiology is an interdisciplinary disease concept developed from the “biopsychosocial model” in recent years. One of the important theories proposed in the ,Inner Canon of Huangdi, is that “the heart governs mental activities”, which can be used to guide the treatment of psychocardiological diseases. We summarized the connotation of “the heart governing mental activities”, discussed the connection and differences between the specific theory and psychocardiological diseases, and provided a comprehensive analysis of the current status of traditional Chinese medicine treatment and research on psychocardiological diseases based on “the heart governing mental activities” in order to provide reference for clinical practice.
